Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Mohie ElDine, Minister of Investment, the 16^th AFA International Annual Fertilizers Forum and accompanying exhibition were convened on: February 2-4, 2010, in Cairo Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel organized by AFA under the theme: Fertilizer Industry: Further Step Ahead. 

Mr. Mohamed Adel El-Mouzi, Chairman of Holding Company & the  representative of Egyptian Industries in AFA Board, attended the Opening Session of the Forum on the behalf of His Excellency Minister of investment, together with AFA Chairman Engineer Mohamed Abdallah, AFA Secretary General Dr. Shafik Ashkar, AFA Board members, Chairmen of Arab and international companies, Chairmen of fertilizer-concerned Arab and international organizations and about 700 participants from 43 countries. 

The 3-days Forum (2-4/2/2010) took place along with a number of international variables.  The Forum further reflects the fertilizer industry people keenness on facing the challenges before the industry, including positive and negative impacts on food security issue and the provision of energy required for sustainable development. Moreover, opinions emphasize that 2010 and following years will represent the beginning of fertilizers industries and trade sector actual recovery after the relative breakthrough in international financial crisis.
